Genre: Young Adult, Science Fiction
This is the story of a teenage girl who has always been interested in astronomy and tends to be constantly statically charged. She lost her birth parents at a young age and was adopted by a young, adventurous couple shortly after that who also died. So, her adoptive aunt and uncle took her in and raised her. She was at the bottom of the high school social pyramid and was teased relentlessly. However, on the first day of sophomore year the attention was pulled from her when the biggest gossip topic was the new quarterback - hot and talented! She knew she didn't have a shot with him, but was immediately drawn to him, maybe a little too much. He happened to glance her way, then he glanced her way again. Soon, she began noticing strange things happening to herself, but especially when she was around him. Join Marsha, aka M, as she works on her stealth to discover the secrets going on in her small town of Jewel, Indiana.
I could not put this book down. I had to keep reading to find out what would happen next. That being said, there was also a lot of "cheese" in this book. There is some teenage "love" going on. They say things that are very lovey-dovey and I had to skim over those scenes because it was a bit too much cheese for me. It's mainly because there's so much of it and there's only so much I can take. Also, the romance was a key point to the story, so it couldn't have been taken out completely - maybe just dialed down some. I can't give you more than that without giving spoilers, so know that the romance is important and that's all I can say. The story was awesome and I barely stopped long enough to feed my children. So, if you don't mind a little sappy teen romance and want a story that can pull you in, this is the book for you. It's sort of like Twilight meets Wings with a sci-fi twist.

Author: Brenda Hiatt is an Active member of Romance Novelists of America and actually started her career as a romance writer which explains why there is so much romance in this young adult sci-fi novel. She also has twenty novels under her belt and is still writing. She has many other interests such as scuba diving, hiking, and Taekwondo. You can learn more about her at her web site HERE.
I do recommend this book. It only has a hand full of cuss words, for the most part it's a clean read. I give it FOUR STARS. ****
