Story shapes

One of the fun things about writing is the ability to do whatever you want with a story. Sometimes I forget this and feel like every story should follow the three part story line - Set-up, Conflict, and Resolution. I forget that as the writer, I can start the story in the middle of the conflict or whatever I want. I came across a cool video that I wanted to share.

Isn't that cool? I've written stories using both of the first two shapes. So, this month, for Nanowrimo, I'm going to try that third shape. Maybe I can pull it off. We'll see. :)
