I would like to introduce you to this amazing author, Chioma Nnani. After reading her post, you'll agree that she is amazing. I totally want to be like her one day! :D So, enjoy the post! :)

My name is Chioma Nnani and I am known as 'the fearless storyteller'.

I am the CEO of The Fearless Storyteller House Emporium Ltd. It's a media and publishing company, whose headquarters is in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria. We create, package and/or market quality Afro-centric material for the reading, listening and viewing pleasure of our audiences across the globe.

So, the company has quite a few departments – there's the “Author Services” department that deals with everything from conceptualizing through to the end product of a physical or digital book or magazine; the “Office Angels” wing that takes care of administrative and other annoying but necessary duties for entrepreneurs and small businesses, so that they can focus on their real business; the “Services to Media” department whose remit it is to produce and/or broadcast and market audio, screen and stage material; and the “Learning & Teaching Unit” through which we deliver online and offline training programs to schools and other organisations.

I am also a blogger – my blogazine “Memo From A Fearless Storyteller” won the 2016 BEFFTA (Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts) Award for “Blog of the Year”. I am a radio presenter – my show is The Fearless Storyteller PX Show; the radio station, Power Xtra is based in London. And I mentor young men and women, who are tired of the status quo and want to push the envelope in different ways.

It all started from a book: “Forever There For You”.

And no, I had no idea what direction my life would go, or how it would change, when the book was published.

Each day is different – I know; cliché, right?

One of our key areas this month is a marketing campaign for the three books published by the company: “Murder At Midnight”, “Ifechidere” and the eBook and iBook versions of “Forever There For You”. The other goal is in relation to an anti-drugs outreach program for secondary school students in Nigeria.

One of the things that makes me smile is the reality of being able to discover aspiring Nigerian authors, who have the potential to be really dope! We currently have five authors (including myself) signed to the company, and each couldn't be more different from the others if they tried. It's like “different shades of Black” or something.

Every day comes with its own needs to be caressed and challenges to be addressed. But seeing goals met? There are no words to describe that. And yes, there are a number of goals on a daily basis.

Liaise with a book reviewer.

Double-check an editor's work.

Hassle a cover designer.

Sign off on an agreement with a school.

Run something by my lawyer.

Take a class.

Pick the brains of a friend who also runs her own business.

Make a phone call.

Do a location check for a new production.

Check social media.

Talk to a guest-blogger.

Write another book.

Edit something.

Make time for a publicity interview.

Send or read an email.

Talk to my PR.

Meet with a friend and catch a break.

Keep an appointment with a mentee.

Go see a doctor.

Have a chat with the producer for my radio show.

Attend a meeting, including online.

Scout for new talent.

Write a blog post.

Talk to my stylist or my skincare person about a concern, in anticipation for an event.

Sign a talent release form.

Write a script.

Do a speaking gig.

Try not to have a heart attack when my account manager calls me, or doesn't take my call.

Make a split-second decision about whether a collaboration with a particular media outlet is a good idea, what photographer to use for a shoot, or whether I really need to travel.

Check in with the other half …

Most mornings, I wake up around 6am and I rarely get to sleep before 10pm every night.

Yet, I feel like these are among the best days of my life. Horizons keep expanding, frontiers continue to be uncovered and I am having a blast, discovering some of the most amazing talent that Africa has to offer!

I've been called “boss”, “a diva to watch”, “one of Africa's most fearless storytellers”, “one of 100 most influential creatives of 2016”, and most recently “one of Nigeria's hottest heads in business”. I am doing the job I was created to do; making magic and memories will outlive me. And I am so grateful.

BIO: Chioma Nnani is the award-winning author of FOREVER THERE FOR YOU, a 2016 DIVAS OF COLOUR finalist (in the category of “Diva Author”), a 2016 CREATIVE AFRICAN Awards finalist (in the category of “Best Fiction Writer”), and has been named “One of 100 Most Influential Creatives” by C.Hub Magazine. She holds a Law (LLB) from the University of Kent and a Postgraduate Certificate in Food Law (De Montfort University, Leicester), is the founder of THE FEARLESS STORYTELLER HOUSE EMPORIUM LTD, and runs the “Memo From A Fearless Storyteller” blogazine at www.fearlessstoryteller.com for which she won the 2016 BEFFTA (Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts) Award for “Blog of the Year”.

Book Blurb: When NADINE is confronted with the reality of her failing marriage, her first instinct is to work it out. She has had it drummed into her that marriage is ‘for better, for worse’. Walking out is just not an option - her faith would condemn her and her culture would make her a pariah. The combination of Nadine’s background, education, social standing, friendships, faith, experiences and past relationships is meant to equip her to become a success. Failure is alien to her and love means forgiving at all cost. As she tries to survive and make the most of the curves that life has thrown her, she discovers that ’success’ is a subjective term, and ‘happily ever after’ is something that you have to discover and define for yourself …
