Estranged daughter Sylvia gets the chance to mend the damaged relationship she has with her mother when her mother's rights are taken away by Sylvia's brother. When she learns of a secret her mother has kept from her, one that she's not supposed to find out about until it's too late, Sylvia is torn between fighting for her mother and fighting for herself.
It's the sign of a good writer when characters in a book can make you angry enough that you want to scream at them, right? Well, that's how I felt while reading this book. Oh my goodness! I can't tell you who without giving away spoilers, but it has to do with that secret Sylvia isn't supposed to find out about that's mentioned above.
Unfortunately, the family dynamics are completely believable. The whole time I read it, I kept feeling different emotions. I liked this character, I thought another character needed to learn to think for herself, and another character just needed to get off his high-horse. LOL! So real. The realism may be what made so many emotions appear towards these characters.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. There were a few errors in it, and the beginning was a little slow for me.
I rate this book four stars. ****
