I'm super excited about today for a few reasons.
1) It's the day after Halloween, so we have tons of candy and are all on a sugar high. Fun times in this house!
2) It's the holiday season and I love the joy that is shared during the holidays.
3) National Novel Writing Month!
Okay, to the first one, I know most people don't enjoy this so much, but I think it's fun. We go on hikes, jump on the trampoline, walk through the neighborhood, or, if the kids are really hyper, I send them to their bedrooms and then I get a quiet house. haha!
It's also the holiday season! I know statistically that more death and suicide happens this time of year. However, I am a happy clicker. What I mean by that is I carry one of those clickers around that count things. Okay, let me just show you a picture.

Yeap, just like that one, except mine is yellow with stickers on it. I click it anytime something makes me happy - a thought, a smile, a memory, seeing something I'm grateful for, kindness from others - seriously, anything that makes me happy gets a click! So, one of my favorite things to do is to smile at everyone I see in a public place. I click the clicker when they smile back. Most people avoid eye contact so they never see me smile to smile back. However, during the holidays, people walk with their heads raised and will actually look at you. Ya know what that means? That means I can make eye contact and smile at people more and get more smiles in return. I love it! It makes me so happy!
Finally, National Novel Writing Month, or Nanowrimo. You've all heard of this, at least, I hope you've all heard of it. If not, check it out now - nanowrimo.org. The point of this is to get into the habit of writing EVERY day. The goal of it is to write 50,000 words in the month of November. This means an average of 1,667 words per day! I don't like things that take too long which is probably why I'm a book reviewer and not so much a writer. Writing takes a long time because of the editing. I love Nanowrimo because it's one month - quick and dirty. It's perfect!
As you go through the day, remember to eat plenty of sugar, smile at everyone, and write!!!! Happy November 1st!!!!
